INCIDENT LOCATION: Dover Road, Newfane

VIOLATION: Leaving the scene of a crash, operating with a criminally suspended license and false information to a police officer

 

ACCUSED: Addison W. Coombs                                               

AGE: 25

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Brattleboro, Vermont

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On March 24, 2017, at approximately 4:50 P.M. Troopers with the Vermont State Police, Westminster Barracks responded to a single vehicle crash on Dover Road in Newfane. Upon arrival Troopers located the vehicle and through investigation located the operator. The operator of the vehicle, Addison Coombs, convinced an uninvolved individual to claim she was the operator. Coombs later confessed to being the operator at the time of the crash. Coombs was found to have a criminally suspended Vermont operators license. The vehicle was not registered to Coombs and sustained extensive damage as a result of the crash. During the crash, property owned by the Town of Newfane and FairPoint Communications was damaged. Coombs was issued a citation to appear in Court at a later date.
