On March 31, 2017 at approximately 1723 hours, State Troopers, the Pittsford Fire Department and First Response, and Regional Ambulance Service responded to a single-vehicle crash located on US Route 7 at Woodlane Drive in the Town of Pittsford. Investigation revealed operator #1 (David Kitchin) had been traveling south on US Route 7 in the area of Woodlane Drive and passed another vehicle utilizing the southbound passing lane. As Kitchin tried to move his vehicle back into the driving lane, the vehicle lost traction and slid off the roadway. The vehicle struck an embankment and became airborne before landing on Woodlane Drive and coming to rest on its roof.

Kitchin was able to get himself out of the vehicle and was treated for minor cuts to his hands by the Pittsford First Response. He was not transported to the hospital. The road conditions contributed to this crash.
