SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On Saturday, March 18, 2017 at approximately 0139 hours, troopers from the Vermont State Police -Rutland Barracks, Killington Fire Department and Rutland

Regional Ambulance were notified of a one-car motor vehicle crash on Tanglewood Drive at the intersection of Gina Drive. The crash was reported with injuries.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed that operator #1 (Stephen Driscoll) was traveling northeast, operating vehicle #1 (a 2000 Ford Sedan) when he failed to

navigate the right turn.  Vehicle #1 left the travel portion of the roadway and struck a tree. 

 

Operator #1 and passenger #1 were trapped inside his vehicle for a short time, but was aided out by friends.  Operator #1 sustained non-life

threatening injuries and was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for treatment.

 

Passenger #1 suffered significant head injury and died on scene. 

 

The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Killington Police Department, Killington Fire Department, several first responders.
