SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On the evening of 3/29/17 Vermont State Police received multiple calls regarding

a loud explosion followed by gunfire in the Town of Hartland.  Troopers have

spoken to several residents and determined that between 9:30 and 10:00 PM a loud

explosion was heard followed by what sounded like gunfire.  Attempts to locate

the source of the explosion or gunfire have led to the Hartland Hill to

Brownsville Rd area.  Based on the available information it is believed that

someone with a private gun range may have been using a readily available impact

based target explosive known generically as Tannerite.  Anyone with information

on the source of the explosion or gunfire is asked to contact the Vermont State

Police, Royalton Barracks at 802-234-9933.
