SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On March 4, 2017 at approximately 1 AM, Troopers from the Vermont State Police, Rutland Barracks were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Quarterline Road in the town of Clarendon. Upon arrival, Troopers identified the operator of the vehicle as Ryan Hammond, 23 of Clarendon. Hammond had left the traveled portion of the roadway an struck a large rock and tree. Hammond sustained minor injury in the form of a small laceration to his left eyebrow.  During his interaction with the Troopers, Hammond displayed signs of impairment and was screened for DUI. Hammond provided a preliminary breath sample, resulting in a .199 BrAC. He was taken into custody and transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in Rutland Town. At the conclusion of DUI processing, Hammond was issued a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on March 20, 2017 at 0830 hours, to answer to the charge of DUI. He was later released to a sober party.
