SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On March 11, 2017, at approximately 2239 hours, State Police were notified of a two-vehicle collision on Route 7 in the Town of Salisbury. Upon arrival, Operator #1 was identified as Gail Grant and Operator #2 was identified as Steven Amaru. Investigation revealed that both vehicles were traveling north on US Route 7 when Operator #2 (Amaru) pulled over to the shoulder to allow Operator #1 (Grant) to pass.  However, Operator #1 passed Vehicle #2 on the right side and while doing so struck Vehicle #2 causing damage.  The force of this collision caused Vehicle #1 to go off the right side of the roadway and then collided with a fence and multiple trees. Operator #1 sustained minor scrapes and Operator #2 sustained no injuries as a result from the collision. Both vehicles were later towed from the scene.  Neither alcohol or drugs were determined to be contributing factors in the collision.

State Police were assisted on scene by the Salisbury Fire Department and Middlebury Rescue.
