SUMMARY OF CRASH: This two vehicle collision occurred on I89 in Winooski at the northbound exit 15 off ramp. Investigation revealed that vehicle#1 driven by Thea M. Wescott rear ended vehicle#2 driven by Mary S. Griffo at the I89 Exit 15 northbound off ramp. There were no injuries. Neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors. Wescott had no insurance for vehicle#1. Wescott was issued a uniform traffic ticket for Following too closely $220 and 5 points total (ticket resulting from a collision) as well as no insurance $162 and 2 points. Total collision related fines and points: $382 and 7 points. State Police continue to warn motorists to maintain safe following distances to prevent collisions.
