DERBY/Felony marijuana possession

VIOLATION: Felony possession of marijuana

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 03/10/2017 at approximately 2330 hours, VSP-Derby Troopers on patrol in the Town of Charleston stopped a vehicle on Route 105 near Willis Rd for moving violations.  Troopers contacted the operator, Pierre Capron, and observed indicators of the presence of marijuana.  Consent was granted for a search, and Troopers seized suspected marijuana from the vehicle and Pierre’s person.

Subsequent testing indicated Capron had been in possession of a felony amount of marijuana.  On 03/13/2017, Capron was cited to appear in court for suspicion of possession of marijuana.  Pierre was also issued civil violations for multiple motor vehicle violations.
