SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On the above date and time, VSP-Derby Troopers responded to a single vehicle car vs. deer collision on I-91.  It was learned operator 1 was traveling south on I-91 near Exit 28, when he struck a deer in the roadway.

The vehicle received extensive, disabling front end damage and came to rest partially in the roadway, leaking fluids.  The travel lane was shut down for the duration of the incident as Fire and EMS worked the scene.

Operator 1 complained of injuries from the crash and was transport to NCH by Derby Line EMS.  Operator 1 was seat belted and there was airbag deployment.

VSP-Derby, US Customs and Border Protection, US Border Patrol, Derby Line Fire, Newport EMS, Derby Line EMS and Ray’s Auto responded to the scene.

Debris was cleared from the roadway, the vehicle was towed and the lane was re-opened at approximately 0100.
