On 03/04/2017 at approximately 0800 hours, VSP-Derby Troopers were dispatched to a 2-car collision with injuries at mile marker 170 on I-91 North.  It was reported the lanes of travel were blocked.  The weather was cold and visibility was limited due to gusting wind.  Troopers, US Border Patrol Agents, AOT, and Derby Line EMS responded and a lane of travel was opened.

Investigation revealed vehicle 2 had been traveling north with traffic.  Vehicle 1, also traveling north, approached vehicle 2 at a speed unreasonable for visibility and road conditions.  Vehicle 1 struck vehicle 2 from the rear and then collided with the west guardrail.  Both vehicles were moved to the shoulders.

Both operators declined EMS.
