CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: St. Albans, Vermont.

VICTIM: (The Vermont State Police does not release the names of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.)

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On March 19th, 2017 at approximately 0247 hours Vermont State Police St. Albans was notified of an active physical dispute in the parking lot of the Georgia Maplefields, off I-89 exit 18. Vermont State Troopers that responded to the scene identified a potential assault victim and an investigation was started.

Over the course of the investigation it was determined that the victim was assaulted by Ivy Chickering (27) of St. Albans, Vermont. Additional information revealed that the victim was struck repeatedly in the head by Chickering as the victim was driving north on I-89 with Chickering and another female passenger.

Chickering was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Albans State Police barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing Chickering was transported to Chittenden County Correctional Center to detox. She is due to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on May 15th, 2017 at 1300 hours to answer the charges of Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment.
