SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 02/27/17 at approximately 1014 hours the Vermont State Police, Springfield Police, Rockingham Fire/Rescue, and the Golden Cross Ambulance were dispatched to a report of a pickup truck versus tractor trailer crash on Missing Link Road (US5) in Rockingham.  There were no reported injuries.  Investigation revealed that Operator#1 had been southbound on Missing Link Road and pulled into a pull off on the west side of the roadway approximately .8 miles south of Upper Meadows Road to turn around.  Vehicle#2 was traveling south on Missing Link Road, and Operator#2 observed Vehicle#1 pull into the pull off.  Operator#1 backed up and then pulled out into Missing Link Road intending to travel north, but failed to yield to Vehicle#2.  The front of Vehicle#1 drove into the passenger side of the 53 foot trailer towed by Vehicle#2.  The right front wheel of the trailer struck the left front fender, bumper, and hood area of Vehicle#1 causing considerable damage to Vehicle#1.  There was some minor damage to an air dam on the passenger side of Vehicle#2’s trailer and damage to the right front tire and wheel of the trailer.  Vehicle#1 was towed from the scene by Hillside Towing.  Operator#2 was able to drive his vehicle to an area where it could be repaired.  Rockingham Fire Department provided traffic control during the investigation.
