SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 02/28/17 at approximately 0950 hours troopers came upon a motor vehicle crash that had just occurred on VT131 in Cavendish just east of Chubb Hill Road.  Investigation revealed that Operator#1 had been traveling east on VT131 when she likely fell asleep.  Instead of negotiating a slight right hand curve, she drove through it.  Vehicle#1 went off the north side of the roadway, struck guard rails on the north side of the roadway, rebounded off of those guard rails, traveled across the roadway, struck the guard rails on the south side of the roadway, rebounded off of those, re-crossed the roadway and struck the guard rails on the north side of the roadway again before coming to final rest on its wheels facing in an easterly direction. Operator#1 was transported to the Springfield Hospital by Ludlow Ambulance, and was treated for minor injuries.  The Cavendish Fire Department assisted at the scene with extrication and traffic control.
