SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

1.      On Saturday, 2/4/17, at approximately 0017 hours the West Burke Volunteer Fire Department was notified of a garage fire on Brook Road in West Burke, VT.  The garage was later identified as belonging to unoccupied property located at 1568 Brook Road in West Burke, VT.  Upon arrival, the fire department located a small fire inside a two-bay garage, which was quickly extinguished by the fire department.  The garage sustained minimal damage and no one was injured during this incident.  The garage did not have power to it and the fire department subsequently contacted the Vermont State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit to investigate.  A member of the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit in conjunction with investigators from the Division of Fire Safety later responded to the scene to perform an origin and cause investigation.  The cause of this fire is under investigation.  Anyone with information about this matter is asked to contact the Vermont State Police at 802-524-5993 or the Vermont Arson Tip Award Program at 1-800-32-ARSON.
