SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On February 27, 2017 at approximately 1:00 AM Vermont State Police were notified of an unattended vehicle that had struck a tree on VT RT 100 North in the town of Killington. Investigation revealed that Jason Evans was traveling north on VT RT 100 when he failed to navigate a corner and drove into a tree. Evans was picked up and transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center where he met with Troopers.
His vehicle, a 1997 Honda CRV is estimated to be totaled due to contact damage and was towed from the scene. Investigation shows that Evans was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Troopers have not yet ruled out speed or alcohol as contributing factors. The collision is still actively under investigation.
Evans was admitted into Rutland Regional for serious but, not life threatening injuries.
