On 02-01-2017 at approximately 1330 hours, Mr. Torrey Allard of Burlington, VT came to the Williston State Police Barracks and advised that while he was traveling on Interstate 89 northbound near mile marker 67 he observed what he originally thought was a fox in the road. He also thought he observed a small sedan drive away from the area. As he approached he then observed that the animal was a small dog in the middle of the travel lane. He, along with his wife and daughter stopped and rescued the dog.  Mr. Allard and his family pulled into the Waterbury rest area and then circled back around and attempted to locate an owner.
