FW: US Route 2 closed in South Hero

Be advised – US Route 2 in South Hero is now open to traffic both north and south bound.

Press Release – Highway / Traffic Notification

US Route 2 in South Hero village is closed due to a structure fire.  The South Hero fire department is on-scene now, although no details are yet available. 

An alternate route through the area is South Street to Landon Rd.  Motorists should expect delays in the area.  Please be mindful that fire tanker trucks will be traveling in the area as well.


Currently there’s no estimate on the duration of this closure.  Updates will be provided from the Fire Department and/or Sheriff’s office when available.
