DUI Rollover in Derby

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 02/09/17 at approximately 2235 hours, the VSP-Derby Barracks and the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on Route 5A in West Charleston.  The weather was cold and snowing and road conditions were slick.  No injuries were reported in the crash.
Upon arrival the operator, Deslandes, was out of the vehicle and uninjured.  A DOC Corrections Officer had also stopped to assist.  Subsequent investigation revealed Deslandes had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor.  A PBT indicated a BAC of 0.174.
Deslandes was placed under arrest and transported to the VSP-Derby Barracks for processing, before being released to a sober adult.  The vehicle received substantial damage to its roof and was towed from the scene.
