SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On the evening of 1-27-17, State Police were dispatched to a report of a tractor trailer unit that went off the road on U.S. Route 2 in the town of St. Johnsbury, VT. State Police made contact with the operator who was identified as Grigorove (71). Investigation revealed that the tractor trailer was traveling west on U.S. Route 2, applied the brakes and went off the north shoulder of the roadway. The tractor sustained extensive damage as a result of the crash. Grigorove advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured as a result of the crash. Members from the St. Johnsbury Fire Department assisted at the scene. During the early morning hours U.S. Route 2 between East Village Road and Vermont Route 18 needed to be shut down in order to remove the tractor trailer unit. Grigorove will be issued Vermont Civil Violation Complaints (VCVC) for unreasonable and imprudent speed for conditions and hazards and failure to drive to the right.
