VSP 2:45 PM UPDATE - I89 Montpelier/Middlesex/Berlin traffic conditions

2:45PM Update – Interstate 89 Exit 9 Middlesex North and South Bound on & off-ramps have been re-opened.

###

2:30 PM UPDATE:  Due to congestion, EXIT 7 Berlin I89 exit ramps have now been closed as well.  I 89 on ramps at exits 7, 8, & 9 are open, and reports are that some people are beginning to leave Montpelier.  However, the scheduled rally lasts until 3pm at the Statehouse, and I 89 exit ramps will remain closed until the such time that the city roads can handle new travelers.

Authorities in Montpelier and the Vermont State Police would like to thanks those in the area for their understanding of this unusual traffic issue.  We hope to have area traffic safely back to normal on Interstate 89 and Montpelier streets by the evening hours.
