CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Swanton, VT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

                On January 15, 2017 at approximately 0355 hours, State Police were notified of a male that had driven his vehicle through the ice near the Canadian border, and now showed up intoxicated at the Highgate Port of Entry.

                State Police met with him at the Port, and identified him as Leonel Moreno (age 29) from Swanton, VT. He admitted to driving in the area, but advised he had no idea how he ended up out on the ice. He gave a breath sample at the scene which showed well over the legal limit.

                Moreno was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the State Police barracks for processing. He was later released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court to answer to DUI #2.
