SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 01/10/2016, the Vermont State Police were notified by an Addison County Sheriffs Deputy about a vehicle travelling east on Leicester Whiting Rd at an extremely high rate of speed. The Deputy stated he observed two vehicles racing on VT RT. 30 in the Town of Whiting. The Deputy stated only one vehicle had stopped when he activated his emergency lights.

Several minutes later the Vermont State Police were advised the vehicle had crashed on Leicester Whiting Rd in the Town of Leicester.

Upon arrival, Troopers found that the registration plates had been removed from the vehicle and the operator had fled the scene. Several witnesses stated the operator climbed out of the passenger side of the car and fled on foot. As a result of the crash, several hundred dollars in property damage was caused. The Deputy identified the vehicle as the same vehicle that failed to stop.

During investigation it was also learned that the owner of the vehicle, Brandon Bridgmon had been the operator of the vehicle and currently had a warrant for his arrest.

On 01/11/2017, Biridgmon was taken into custody by Troopers and was transported to the New Haven Barracks. Bridgmon was charged with Driving with a Criminally Suspended License, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Careless and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and False Swearing. Bridgmon was subsequently lodged on the warrant at Marble Valley Correctional Facility for lack of $250 bail.
