SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On 01/29/2017, at approximately 2:51 AM, the Vermont State Police initiated a vehicle stop on a speeding motorist on I-91 south in the Town of Vernon. The operator, Robert A. Chenkus, 50, of Meriden, CT, showed signs of impairment and was subsequently asked to perform the Standard Field Sobriety Exercises. Chenkus provided a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) sample of .190% BAC at roadside. Chenkus was taken into custody for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Chenkus was processed at the Westminster State Police Barracks and was released with a citation to answer to the charge of DUI.
