SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 01/29/2017 at approximately 1816 hours, Vermont State Police received a complaint in regards to a motorist traveling north on Route 100 in Killington, speeding, and driving all over the road. While responding to the area, Vermont State Troopers were notified by the original caller that the subject vehicle had now gone off of the roadway and was stuck in a ditch on Route 100 in Pittsfield.
Shortly thereafter, Troopers located the subject vehicle, which was attempting to drive out of the ditch, but it was unable to due to the snow.
The operator was identified as Emile N. Brown, age 34, of Boston, MA. Brown displayed signs of impairment throughout the course of the interaction, and was subsequently screened for suspicion of driving under the influence. At approximately 1844 hours, Brown provided a preliminary breath sample which measured his breath alcohol content (BrAC) as a 0.270%. Brown was taken into custody, and transported to the State Police Barracks in Rutland, where he was processed for suspicion of DUI. Brown was later released on citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later time and date.
