SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 01/06/17, Vermont State Police Sgt Robert Zink attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 GMC Sierra, later found to be operated by Adin Cornell, for a traffic infraction in the area of Barnumville Road and Beech Street, Manchester. Upon turning his patrol vehicle around to catch up to Cornell, Cornell accelerated away from Sgt Zink at a high rate of speed. Sgt Zink discontinued the pursuit due to the unsafe speeds. A short time later, Sgt
Zink located the overturned truck at the intersection of High Meadow Way and VT RT 7a.

Cornell and a passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. While investigating the incident, Cornell was suspected to be under the
influence of intoxicating liquor. Cornell performed field sobriety exercises and provided a preliminary breath test of .106%. Cornell was taken into custody for
DUI and transported to the Manchester Police Department to be processed. Cornell was later released with a citation to appear in Bennington County Superior
Court, Criminal Division, to answer the charge of DUI, Gross Negligent Operation and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.

Manchester Police and Manchester Fire & Rescue responded to and assisted at the scene while the investigation was under way.
