SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On January 19, 2017, at approximately 1:27 A.M, the Vermont State Police were notified of a crash on Interstate 91 north at mile marker 31 in the Town of Westminster (Windham County) Vermont.

An investigation revealed the operator of the Fedex International truck pulling two trailers, Dalmar Aden, lost control while traveling north on Interstate 91, in part due to road conditions. This caused his truck and one trailer to travel down the bridge embankment onto Vermont Route 121, totaling both units. The second trailer remained on Interstate 91 near mile marker 31, causing major damage to the road surface and guard rails.

The operator of the second TT unit, Curtis Cottrell, struck the second disconnected trailer on the interstate totaling it and blocking both lanes. There were minor injuries reported by both operators, but both declined medical

attention.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 91, between exit 5 & 6 were closed for an extended period of time while vehicles were being removed and the bridge inspected by members of VTrans.

Vermont State Police were assisted at the scene by members of Golden Cross Ambulance Service, Westminster Fire Department and employees of VTrans.
