SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
                During routine patrol, Trp. Mattuchio was notified by VSP dispatch that they had received a call from the St. Albans Maplefields regarding the vehicle that was previously stopped and grounded in their parking lot. They advised that the male operator had just driven off.
                Knowing the male worked at Walmart for the night shift, Trp. Mattuchio located the vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart. Bushey at first denied driving the vehicle over however he later confessed. Bushey was given another citation for driving while suspended (criminally) and must appear in Franklin County Superior Court on January 9, 2017 at 1pm.

Subsequent investigation revealed the operator, Trevor Hartigan (17 years old of St. Albans, VT) was under the influence of alcohol. He provided a PBT of .173% roadside. He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Albans Barracks. 

He was issued a citation to appear in Franklin County Criminal Court on 1.3.2017 at 1300 hours to answer to the charge of DUI.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On 11/29/16 at approximately 0745 Vermont State Police were notified of a 3 car collision in Bridgewater by Pearson Rd.  Windsor County Sheriff Dept, Vermont State Police, and Vermont DMV officers responded to the crash.  On scene investigation found the following.  At the time of the crash there was freezing rain and the road surface was partially covered in ice.  Vehicle 1 was travelling west on VT Rt 4 in the Town of Bridgewater.  As vehicle 1 entered a curve operator 1 lost control of her vehicle and vehicle 1 crossed the center line into the east bound lane of a tractor trailer truck, vehicle 2.  Vehicle 2 attempted to swerve left to avoid vehicle 1 and crossed the center line into the west bound lane and struck vehicle 3 head on in the west bound lane.  Operator 3 was pronounced dead on scene, operators 1 and 2 were checked by ambulance and released from the scene. 

 

This crash remains under investigation.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On November 28, 2016 at approximately 15:57 hours the Vermont State Police Responded to the Watershed trail head parking lot on Plank road in the Town of New Haven for a report of stolen items from a motor vehicle.

 

Investigation revealed that the two motor vehicles at the parking area had broken windows and item missing from them. The State Police made contact with one of the vehicle owners, Jonasshon, who advised that she came back to her vehicle to find a rear window smashed. Jonasshon advised that she had found a cell phone inside her vehicle that did not belong to her. Jonasshon advised that a male subject arrived at the scene.  Jonasshon advised the male subject grabbed onto her and retrieved the cellphone from her pocket and fled the scene. The male subject was described as a white male possibly in his late 30’s , 5’9”, approximately 160 lbs, , wearing a black knit beanie, beige Carhart pants, and a dark jacket.

 

The male subject was last seen driving a red what is believed to be a Chevrolet S10 pickup with unknown Vermont plate number travelling west bound on Plank Road in the Town of New Haven.  Investigation revealed that there was no assault that took place when the male retrieved the cell phone.

 

The Vermont State Police are currently investigating this and other car break ins throughout Addison County. 

 

The Vermont State Police want to remind hikers parking in secluded areas and trail parking lots to please avoid leaving any property in plain view from outside of the vehicle on seats or floor areas.

At approximately 0500 hours this date, State Police responded to the Champlain Farms convenience store for a reported armed robbery that had just occurred. It was reported that a lone male had entered the store and demanded money from the cash register. While at the register the male partially exposed a handgun to the clerk. The clerk described the male as dressed in a dark colored hoody style sweatshirt with his face partially exposed. The male was also wearing what appeared to be blue jeans and dark colored boots. The suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money from the register. A K9 track was conducted by US Customs and Boarder Protection with no results. Uniform Troopers and Detectives are actively investigating the robbery and are requesting the publics assistance. Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 11/29/16 at approximately 1715 hours, VSP-Derby Troopers were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Rtes 105 and 100 in Newport Center.  Troopers responded to find both vehicles disabled due to damage in the middle of the road.  There was airbag deployment in vehicle 2, and operator 2, Sousa-Racicot, was complaining of pain.

Investigation revealed operator 1, Coderre, had failed to yield to vehicle 2 while proceeding through the stop sign at the junction of Rtes 105 and 100, and was subsequently struck in the left fender by vehicle 2, which was travelling south on Rte 105.

Operator 2 declined ambulance transport and was driven to North Country Hospital.  Operator 1 was issued a ticket for failing to yield right of way.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Rockwell’s and East Main Auto.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On November 29, 2016 at approximately 1852 hours, troopers from the Vermont State Police-Rutland Barracks were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injuries on VT Route 31 in the Town of Poultney. Investigation revealed the operator, Brian F. Brown, was traveling north on VT Route 31 near New Boston Road. His vehicle traveled off the right (east) side of the roadway, struck a mailbox then several trees before coming to rest in the roadway. Brown was evaluated by the Poultney Rescue Squad on scene and declined transport to the hospital.

 

Brown displayed signs of impairment and was screened for DUI. He refused to provide a preliminary sample of his breath. He was taken into custody and transported to the Fair Haven Police Department where he was processed for DUI. Brown was released to a sober party and cited to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on December 19, 2016.

 

The Poultney Rescue Squad and Poultney Fire Department assisted at the scene of this crash. The vehicle was removed by Warner’s Towing from Granville, NY.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 11/29/2016 the Vermont State Police responded to a two vehicle collision on U.S. RT. 7 in the Town of New Haven. Upon arrival it was determined there were no injuries. During investigation, it was determined that Christopher Driscoll, the at fault operator had, struck a second vehicle, operated by Brady Metcalf, from behind.  Driscoll was also found to have operated a motor vehicle while under criminal  suspension. Driscoll was processed at the New Haven Barracks and subsequently released on a citation to appear in Addison District Court on January 9, 2017 at 12:30 PM to answer to the charge of Driving While License Suspended Criminal.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On the late morning of 11-29-16, at approximately 1100 hours, State Police were called to a tractor trailer that had slid off the roadway on Vermont Route 122, in the town of Sheffield, VT. Upon arrival Troopers discovered that Fecteau (24) had been traveling South on Route 122 when he hit a patch of ice and his tractor trailer slid off the side of the road coming to rest in the ditch. The trailer was loaded with wood chips at the time. There were no injuries reported. The tractor trailer was towed out of the ditch and was able to be driven away. Vermont Route 122 was shut down for approximately 40 minutes while the tractor trailer was removed.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 11/29/2016 at approximately 0730 hours, State Police
responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred near 2776 VT ROUTE 15 E in
Hardwick, VT. Steven Collins, 35, of Morrisville, VT struck a parked vehicle
occupied by Casey Fellows, 27, of Hardwick. Fellows was parked on Route 15 as
all traffic was stopped due to icy road conditions. Collins was traveling east
before he struck Fellows vehicle. Both operators were wearing seatbelts and were
not injured. Road conditions were a factor in the crash.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On 11/29/2016 at approximately 0900 hours, State Police responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred near 1311 Joes Brook Road in Danville at approximately 0730. Julie Fox-McClure, 53, of Danville was traveling north on Joes Brook road when she went off the road and struck an unoccupied vehicle. The unoccupied vehicle, owned by Eric Brinkerhoff, 64, also of Danville, had gone off the road in the same spot. A third vehicle also went off the road in the area but was not involved in this Crash. Poor road conditions were a factor.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

Operator #1 was traveling north on Route 100 on her way to work.  While traveling through a series of "S" curves at 25-30 MPH, vehicle #1 slid on black ice and exited the roadway.  Vehicle #1 struck several large rocks and a tree stump before coming to rest on top of a culvert.  The vehicle suffered extensive damage to the entire front end, undercarriage and hood.  There was also dual airbag deployment.  Operator #1 was wearing a seatbelt and reported no injuries.

The female who was identified as Angela Neill of Jeffersonville Age 41. Injuries are non-life threatening.  Her injuries were too her lower foot and ankle with a possible fracture.  She was transported to UVM Medical Center by Essex Rescue.
