SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 8/31/16 the State Police responded to the report of a

burglary on South RD in the town of Marlboro. Investigation revealed that

between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:40 pm on 08/31/2016 someone entered the home

and stole an ipad in a black foam case. A Ryobi X430 weed trimmer was also taken

from the yard of the residence. If anyone observed any suspicious activity in

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On the evening of 08-30-16, State Police were dispatched to a single vehicle crash near 5904 South Wheelock Road in the town of Wheelock, VT. Upon arrival, Troopers found a disabled vehicle with the front end in a ditch and the rear of the vehicle partially in the lane of travel.

 

Troopers made contact with the operator, Hubbell (18), who said she was traveling East on South Wheelock Road, when she lost control of her vehicle and ended up in a ditch. Hubbell she said that she was wearing her seatbelt. Lyndon Rescue assisted on scene, and transported Hubbell to Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital for evaluation due to minor injuries sustained in the crash.

 

The vehicle was towed by Wrights Towing due to damage to the front of the vehicle. Hubbell was issued a warning for driving too fast for road conditions.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 08/31/2016, at approximately 1949 hours, VSP Middlesex received a call about a single vehicle crash on West Hill Pond Rd in Cabot, VT. Upon arrival, Troopers met with Barnett who advised that she was the driver. Through further investigation, Troopers determined that Barnett was lying about driving in order to protect the identity of the true driver, who was not on scene. Barnett refused to identify the operator. Barnett was taken into custody for providing false information to a law enforcement officer as well as impeding law enforcement. She was transported to the Middlesex State Police Barracks for processing and released. She is scheduled to appear in Washington Superior Court - Criminal Division on October 6th, 2016.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 08/31/16, the State Police responded to a reported two vehicle collision on

Interstate 91 in Thetford. Members of the Thetford Fire and Police Departments,

Upper Valley Ambulance, Agency of Transportation, an Inspector with the

Department of Motor Vehicle, and Sabil and Sons Wrecker Service responded as

well.

 

Oswaldo Martini was operating a 2015 International tractor trailer and traveling

south. There was a pickup truck towing a camper which was parked along the west

side shoulder due to a flat tire on the trailer. For reasons unknown, Oswaldo

Martini drifted along the west shoulder. The passenger side of the tractor

trailer struck the driver's side of the camper and truck in a sideswipe manner.

 

The tractor trailer came to rest a short distance away along the embankment off

the west side of the Interstate. Oswaldo Martini was not injured in the crash.

The occupants of the pickup truck were away from the vehicle at the time of the

collision and also were not injured.

 

The tractor trailer sustained moderate damage along the passenger side to

include a ruptured fuel tank. The camper sustained extensive damage and was

considered totaled. The pickup truck sustained moderate damage along the

driver's side.

 

The travel lane was closed for a few hours while crews cleaned debris from the roadway and removed the vehicles.

 

Oswaldo Martini was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for Driving on

roadway laned for traffic.

 

A crew from Clean Harbor Environmental Services later responded to assess the diesel fuel spill.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On August 23, 2016, Vermont State Police were asked to assist the Barre Town Police Department with a suspicious circumstance at one of the Rock of Ages quarry. It was reported that a male had exited a wooded area became unconscious in a parking lot with possible injuries. The male was subsequently transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for emergency care. VSP detectives responded to the hospital and the scene in an attempt to identify and interview the male. Due to the male’s medical conditions he was unable to communicate and he had no identification on his person. The male is described as a Caucasian male with dark colored hair and some facial hair, approximately  5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall weighing approximately 140 pounds. The male is believed to be between 18 to 25 years of age.  The State Police and the Barre Town Police department are requesting the public’s assistance seeking information on any missing persons in the area of Barre Town and Williamstown. Any persons who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Rock of Ages vicinity is asked to contact the State Police.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On August 31, 2016 VSP Williston Troopers responded to a 3 vehicle collisions on I89 in Winooski at Exit 15 southbound. Upon arrival it was found through investigation that morning commuter traffic had slowed near the exit 15 on ramp. Operator#1, Airoldi subsequently lost control of her Toyota Rav 4 and rear ended a full size 2016 Chevy Silverado that was stopped. The Silverado was pushed into a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Traffic was backed up at the location for some time. Neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors. There were no incapacitating injuries.


Vermont State Police continue to remind the public to follow at safe distances giving oneself enough space and time to brake for traffic or other possible road obstructions. Operator#1 will be mailed a traffic ticket pursuant to Title 23 VSA Section 1039 Following too closely. $220.00 and (5 points) as the violation occurred from a collision.

Upon arrival, Troopers learned the operator of the Jeep Grand Cherokee fled the scene on foot and was last seen traveling south on VT Route 30. Witnesses at the scene described the operator as a white skinny male, approximately 6’ 1” tall. The male was wearing a tank top, jeans, with no facial hair and shaved head. The male was also described to have tattoos on both arms. State police is requesting anyone with information about the operator involved in this crash to contact Trooper Roel Diaz at the Westminster Barracks.

The operator, Paul La Vell Reid, showed signs of impairment and asked to do Field Sobriety Exercises. Reid refused to submit to a Preliminary Breath Test at roadside. Reid was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Reid was processed at the Westminster Barracks and he was subsequently lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility until sober. Reid was issued a citation to appear in court.

complaint. It was discovered that Aaron B. Lane of Woodford was driving south on
Harbour Road earlier that day at approximately 30-35 mph with a vehicle
following him. It was reported that Lane came to sudden stops for no reason with
the vehicle following. It is believed Lane was attempting to cause a motor
vehicle crash. Lane was issued a criminal citation to appear in Bennington
Superior Court-Criminal Division on 10-05-2016 at 0815 hours to answer to the
charge of Negligent Operation.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On the evening of 08-23-16 State Police received a call about an ongoing Domestic Assault in which Robert Vergason was attacking the male victim with a baseball bat. Investigation revealed that Vergason came downstairs after a minor altercation with the female victim upstairs with a baseball bat and went after the male victim. Vergason and the male victim wrestled for control of the bat and the female victim gained control of the bat. Vergason continued fighting with the male victim in the house until he was subdued by the male victim. Both the female and male victim were checked out on scene by EMS for minor injuries. Vergason was transported to Cottage Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. Vergason was issued court conditions and cited into Caledonia court on 8/29/16.

While speaking with the operator, the operator exhibited several signs of impairment. Troopers identified the male operator as Jeffrey Wood age 27, of West Rutland, Vermont. Wood was screened and provided a preliminary breath sample resulting in 0.298 BrAC, over three times the legal limit. Wood was taken into custody for DUI #1 and processed at the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks.

Price stated that a deer ran across the roadway and in a effort to avoid the deer, he began steering towards the edge of the roadway. Price stated that he caught the edge of the roadway, which subsequently caused him to go off the road. After going off the road, Price's vehicle struck a concrete barrier and a tree. Price sustained no injuries as a result of the collision. Price's vehicle was totaled as a result of the collision. State Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision.

 

***UPDATE*** Vermont Route 22A is currently down to one lane of travel in the area of the collision. State Police will notify when traffic flow returns to normal.

activated and a short pursuit occurred. Once the vehicle came to a stop the
operator was identified as Amanda K Stuart. It was also discovered that two
juvenile children were in the back seat of the vehicle. Stuart was placed into

appear in Lamoille Superior Criminal Court for 9/28/16 for the offenses of
