SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On 12/29/2016 the Grand Isle Sheriff’s Department and the Vermont State Police St. Albans Field Station was notified of a motor vehicle incident on US Route 2 in Alburg, VT during which a female jumped from a passenger truck traveling approximately 40 miles-per-hour.

 

The subsequent investigation yielded that the female willfully jumped from the vehicle during a verbal dispute with the driver.  The female suffered critical injuries to her face and head as a result of this action.  This event is being investigated as a mental health incident.  As a result, names of those involved will not be released.   

 

The female was transported to the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, VT for treatment.  Her status is not known.  While this investigation is ongoing criminal charges are not anticipated.
