SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 11/17/2016 the Vermont State Police-Troop D Bureau of Criminal Investigation was contacted by supervising officials from the Department of Corrections (DOC) at Southern State Correctional Facility (SSCF) in Springfield regarding contraband that was intercepted at the facility. State Police initiated an investigation with the DOC. DOC had received inmate mail found to contain Suboxone (Buprenorphine). Through a collaborative investigation with DOC, State Police learned that Tricia Bisson of Craftsbury Common, VT had attempted to mail the contraband to an inmate at SSCF and used another person’s identity in the course of doing so. Detectives from the Derby Barracks assisted in the investigation and arrested Bisson on 11/29/16-charging her with Possession of a Narcotic; Transportation of Drugs into a House of Detention and Identity Theft. She was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on January 10, 2017.
