SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On 12/11/2016 at approximately 1609 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police, New Haven Barracks responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on VT 22A, near Nortontown Rd, Addison, VT.  Upon arrival it was learned that V#1, a 1999 Subaru Impreza, operated by James Richman (Op#1) collided with V#2, a Subaru XVC operated by Edwina Ho (Op#2).   Preliminary investigation indicates that V#1, Richman, travelled left of center and struck V#2, Ho, in a near head-on manner, despite Ho pulling as far to the right as she could.  The impact caused V#1, Richman, to overturn and come to a position of rest on its roof, off the west side of the roadway:  V#2, Ho, also came to a position of rest, off of the west side of the roadway.
Upon extrication of the vehicle by the Addison Volunteer Fire Department, Op#1, Richman, was transported by ambulance to the UVM Medical Center, Burlington where, he remains in critical condition.  Op#2, Ho, was transported by ambulance to Porter Hospital, Middlebury, where she was treated and released.
Neither speed nor impairment appear to be contributing factors at this time.
This crash remains under investigation.  Anyone with information regarding the crash is requested to contact the Vermont State Police, New Haven Barracks.
