SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 12/30/2016, at approximately 9:05 PM, a member of the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks initiated a vehicle stop on a speeding motorist on U.S. 5 south in the Town of Dummerston. The operator, Nathan D. Petrie, 21, showed signs of impairment and he was asked to perform Field Sobriety Exercises. Petrie provided a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) at roadside of .116. Petrie was taken into custody for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Petrie was processed at the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks and he was subsequently released with a citation to answer to the charge of DUI.
