SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at approximately 1515 hours, the Vermont State Police was notified of a three vehicle crash on VT Route 30 in the Town of Poultney. Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded and located the crash at the intersection of Walker Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Travis Vladyka was operating his vehicle, traveling south on VT Route 30, at approximately 50 mph. As Vladyka crested the hill on VT Route 30 approaching the intersection of Walker Road, he noticed a line of vehicles in the roadway. Vladyka was unable to stop his vehicle in time and subsequently made contact with vehicle #2. Wilda White was operating her vehicle (vehicle #2) also traveling south on VT Route 30. White was stopped waiting for the vehicles in front of her to make a left turn on Walker Road. As White was struck from behind by Vladyka, her vehicle made contact with the vehicle that was in front of her (vehicle #3). Geraldine Woodruff was operating her vehicle (vehicle #3) also traveling south on VT Route 30.

Vehicle #1 sustained major contact damage to the front end. It was removed from the scene due to disabling damage by Thomas’ Towing. Vehicle #2 sustained major contact damage to the rear end and minor cosmetic damage to the front bumper. It was removed from the scene due to disabling damage by Moonlight Towing. Vehicle #3 sustained minor cosmetic damage to the rear bumper. Vehicle #3 was able to be driven off scene under its own power.

Vladyka was found at fault for the crash and was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint.
