SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On December 14, 2016, at approximately 1155 hours, members of the Vermont State Police were notified of a motor vehicle which was parked at the intersection of Teer Road and Frost Hill Road Belmont, Vermont. The complainant, a resident of this area, advised the vehicle was unfamiliar. They further advised two males exited the vehicle, and were walking toward an unoccupied residence through the woods.
At approximately 1228 hours, Troopers arrived and located the vehicle in question by the description provided by the complainant. The operator was identified as Daniel Prescott. It was then learned Prescott’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle was criminally suspended in the State of Vermont. Subsequent investigation, which included a consent search of the vehicle mentioned above, revealed Prescott to be in possession of a controlled substance. Prescott was then taken into custody and transported to the State Police Barracks in Rutland Town for processing.
Prescott was later released on citation to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on February 29, 2017, to answer to the charges listed above.
