SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On July 30, 2016 at approximately 1625 hours, troopers from the Vermont State Police –Rutland Barracks responded to a two-vehicle crash on US Route 4 in the Town of Mendon. Investigation revealed that the operator of the at-fault vehicle had fled the scene after the crash. There were no injuries reported by the operator or occupants of the second vehicle, however, their vehicle sustained damage.
Through investigation, troopers identified Ryan W. Corey as the at-fault operator who fled the scene of the crash without providing his name, or contact information to the other driver. On December 10, 2016, Corey was issued a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on January 30, 2017 at 8:30 AM to answer to the charge of leaving the scene of a crash (Accident –Duty to stop).
