SUMMARY OF CRASH: On December 3, 2016, at approximately 9:00 A.M. Troopers with the Vermont State Police, Westminster Barracks, responded to a single vehicle crash on River Road in Newfane. Upon arrival, members of the Newbrook Fire Department were on scene and had extinguished the vehicle which had, at one point been fully engulfed in flames. The operator of the vehicle, a 17 year old juvenile from Grafton, VT had left the scene prior to any first responders arrival. The juvenile later advised he had fallen asleep and drove off the road, ultimately striking a tree. The juvenile's Vermont Operators License in the State of Vermont was criminally suspended at the time of the crash. The juvenile was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date.
