DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE: 2008 Honda Fit

DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Damage to front end, hood, roof and drivers side of the vehicle. Vehicle is considered a total loss.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 12/22/2016 at approximately 0740 hours, Blaushild was traveling southbound on Interstate 91 at approximately 70 miles per hour on snow covered roads. After Blaushild traveled southbound he came upon two slower moving vehicles that were reportedly side by side. Blaushild advised that as he tried to slow down, he applied the brakes and as a result lost control. Blaushild’s vehicle left the roadway and went into the shoulder on the west side of the southbound lanes. Blaushild’s vehicle struck the dirt embankment and then the vehicle overturned.  Putney Fire assisted at the scene. Brattleboro Towing removed the vehicle from the scene. The vehicle is considered a total loss. It should be noted that the vehicle was not equipped with snow tires. Blaushild was issued a VCVC for speeds too fast for the existing road conditions a violation of Title 23 VSA 1081(d).
