SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 12/19/16 at approximately 0730 hours, members of VSP Westminster responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Grassy Brook Road in the Town of Brookline. During the roadside investigation, it was determined that the operator, David Covey was traveling southbound on Grassy Brook Road at approximately 25 miles per hour. As Covey continued southbound, he entered a moderate curve to the right. Covey failed to navigate the curve and went off the roadway into a drainage swale. Once in the swale, the vehicle went up a minor grade on the other side and then overturned onto the passenger side.  It should be noted that at the time of the crash the gravel roadway as ice covered and had not yet been treated with sand.

There were no reported injuries at the scene. Scott Brooks Towing removed the vehicle. Covey was issued a written warning for speed too fast for existing road conditions, a violation of Title 23 VSA 1081(a) and for inspection of registered vehicles, a violation of Title 23 VSA 1222.
