SUMMARY OF CRASH: State Police responded to a report of a two vehicle rollover crash on I-91 north near mile marker 96 in Fairlee at approximately 1413 hours. Troopers learned a 2016 Chevy Cruze operated by Kevin Laplaca was traveling north when it collided with the rear end of a 2009 Honda Civic operated by Emily Fadden.

Investigation found that Laplaca, who's NH driver's license is suspended, was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision. Additionally, he was not looking at the roadway as he was bent over looking for a cigarette lighter on the passenger floor when he ran into the back of Fadden's vehicle causing it to go off the east side of the roadway and roll numerous times. Laplaca had also been talking on his cell phone shortly before the crash.

Fadden was transported via Upper Valley Ambulance to DHMC for a possible arm injury. Her vehicle was totaled. Laplaca was not injured. His vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and was secured as evidence.

Laplaca was issued a citation to appear in Orange County Court on 02/15/17 to answer the charge of Grossly Negligent Operation of a Vehicle.
