Motor Vehicle Crash in Arlington

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On 12/26/16 at approximately 1624 hours Vermont State Police were dispatched to

the area of 5168 VT RT 7a, Arlington, for a single vehicle crash. It was

reported the vehicle had crashed into a telephone pole and there were injuries

as a result.

 

Troopers arrived on scene and began investigating the crash. The vehicle, being

operated by Nicholas Ritchie, was traveling south on VT RT 7a at the time, when

Ritchie lost control of said vehicle after coming out of a slight curve in the

roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a telephone pole,

shearing it off at ground level. The vehicle overturned as a result of the

collision.

 

Ritchie was transported to the Rutlan Regional Medical Center after reporting

lower back pain as well as abdominal pain.

 

VT RT 7a was closed from the Laver Road area to Sunrise Lane for several hours

as a result of the crash. The Arlington Fire Department played a critical role

in assisting at the scene. Investigation into this crash remains open.
