SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 12/22/16 at approximately 0814 hrs, Vermont State Police - Royalton responded to a report of a break in at the Teago General Store in Pomfret, Windsor County. The initial investigation showed someone had gained entry through one of the front windows and stole items from the store. Further investigation revealed burglar(s) had taken approximately 25-30 unwrapped toys out of the filled Toys for Tots bin inside the store. The burglar(s) also gained access to the attached United States Post Office and stole several items including approximately 20-25 packages waiting to be delivered to community members. The Vermont State Police and the United States Postal Service are actively working on the investigation. The United States Postal Service will also be sending information out to area residents relating to the stolen packages. If anyone has any information regarding these burglaries, they are asked to contact the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks at 802-234-9933.

Troopers of the Royalton Barracks are working together to try to replenish the bin of toys that was emptied. Currently, no more toys are being collected at community centers. If anyone would like to donate, the Central Vermont location is at 27 Farmvu Drive in White River Junction, Windsor County. Due to significantly limited time, please bring donations to the central location. The Royalton Barracks would not be able to accept donations. The contact number for the toy collection location is 802-296-8800 if anyone would like to contact the Toys for Tots collection center.
