SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 12/03/2016 Tpr Hurwitch had just cleared a separate motor vehicle crash was traveling west on Rte 105 in Sheldon when the Trooper came across another vehicle that had lost control and broke a utility pole while traveling east bound. Tpr Hurwitch turned his cruiser around and stopped behind this vehicle on Rte 105 to assist the operator.

The trooper gathered the operators information and while completing the forms necessary for this incident, his cruiser was hit from behind on the driver side rear quarter panel and bumper with the front passenger bumper and fender of V#1.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to the type and location of the damage. Oper 1 did not advise of injuries at this time. Tpr Hurwitch was screened at the ER and was released with little or minor injuries.

At the time of the crash, it was snowing and the roadway had been covered with snow and some freezing rain. This crash is still under investigation.
