MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

AGE: 62

VEHICLE YEAR: 2007
VEHICLE MAKE: Chevrolet
VEHICLE MODEL: Cobalt
DAMAGE TO VEHICLE #1: Totaled 
INJURIES: Severe blunt force trauma. 
HOSPITAL: Not transported. 

SUMMARY OF CRASH: 

On 12/14/2016 at approximately 0540 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police, New Haven Barracks responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Main St, near East St, in the Town of New Haven, VT.  
State Police learned upon arrival that the operator of vehicle #1, Marietta Pomainville, was deceased as a result of the crash. Preliminary investigation indicates that V#1, a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, operated by Pomainville (Op#1) collided with a tree. V#1, spun clockwise in the roadway, travelled left of center and the driver side of the vehicle struck the tree. The vehicle came to a position of rest facing east.
New Haven Fire Department, New Haven Rescue, Bristol EMS, and Addison County Sheriff's Department assisted State Police at the scene. 
Impairment did not appear to be a contributing factor to this crash. This crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crash is requested to contact the Vermont State Police, New Haven Barracks (802) 388-4919.
