12/23/16 Assault on LEO, Resisting Arrest Press Release

On 12/23/16 at 2134 hours, Troopers were notified of an assault in progress at 24 Lakeview Road in Grand Isle, Vermont. Troopers responded to the scene and took the defendant, identified as Stephen E. Corron, 37, of Grand Isle into custody. Investigation revealed that the defendant assaulted a Grand Isle Sheriff’s Deputy then proceeded to resist being taken into custody for the aforementioned offense. The defendant and the deputy he assaulted were both transported to UVM Medical Center, where the deputy was later released with minor injuries. The defendant was transferred into the custody of the Department of Corrections at UVM Medical Center. He will be lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail and is due to appear in Grand Isle Superior Court on December 27th, 2016 to answer the charges of Assault on Law Enforcement and Resisting Arrest.

Troopers were assisted in this case by the Grand Isle Sheriff’s Department, Swanton Police Department, and Border Patrol.
