SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On November 21, 2016, at approximately 1252 hours, Troopers from the Rutland Vermont State Police barracks responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle crash located at the US Route 7 and VT Route 7B intersection in Clarendon, VT.
Vehicle #1 being operated by Susan Allard was stationary in the southbound lane at the VT Route 7B North and US Route 7 intersection. Vehicle #2 being operated by Terry Gordon was traveling south on US Route 7 approaching the intersection.
US Route 7 is a limited access roadway primarily running north and south with a posted speed limit of 55 miles per hour. VT Route 7B is a cross street intersecting US Route 7 perpendicularly. This intersection is controlled by traffic control devices in the form of stop signs on the cross street. Vehicles traveling on VT Route 7B must stop and yield the right of way to vehicles traveling on US Route 7.
Operator #1 (Allard) enter onto US RT 7 from VT Route 7B and into the path of travel of vehicle #2. Vehicle #2 was unable to avoid collision and subsequently struck the left side of vehicle #1.
Operator #1 (Allard) sustained critical injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased upon arrival to the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, Regional Ambulance Service, Vtrans.
