SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On the evening of 11-21-16, State Police were dispatched to a one vehicle crash on Hospital Drive in the town of Saint Johnsbury, VT. Upon arrival, State Police observed a 2014 Honda Civic off the north shoulder of the roadway resting on the driver side. The operator of the vehicle, Gomez (30), advised Troopers that he was traveling west on Hospital Drive when he observed a vehicle ahead turn in front of his vehicle. Gomez advised he applied the brakes which did not seem to have an effect. Gomez stated he then pulled on the emergency brake which made his vehicle head toward the north shoulder of the roadway. Gomez stated that his vehicle went into the ditch, then rolled onto the driver side. Gomez stated he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured. Members from CALEX Ambulance Service, Saint Johnsbury Fire Department and Caledonia County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
