Re: Icy conditions & vehicle incidents

Traffic is at a stand-still on Interstate 89 near exit 8 (Montpelier) due to icy conditions.  Both north and southbound lanes.

Traffic is also at a stand-still on Interstate 91 in the Sheffield Heights area, both north and southbound lanes.

VTrans is working as quickly as possible to treat the roads.  Please drive carefully.

Subject: [MEDIANORTH] Icy conditions & vehicle incidents

The State Police are receiving numerous reports of icy road conditions throughout central and eastern Vermont, particularly on Interstate 89 between Middlesex and Berlin, and on Interstate 91 south of St. Johnsbury.  Troopers are responding to multiple reports of crashes and other vehicles off the roadways.

At this point, no details on specific crashes are available.  Motorists are reminded to slow down, leave extra space between vehicles and avoid unnecessary travel until roads can be cleared.  Please do not call 911 for road conditions, they can be checked at 511vt.com.

Please drive carefully, thank you
