SUMMARY OF CRASH: On November 2, 2016 at approximately 0800 hours Vermont State Police Williston Troopers responded to a reported 3 vehicle unknown injury collision on I89 in Winooski at the Winooski River Bridge. Upon arrival it was found that Operator#1 Nicole F. Corneau rear ended a vehicle in front of her forcing that vehicle into a third vehicle.

As a result of the 3 vehicle collision, morning commuter traffic was backed up for approximately 4-5 miles southbound. Traffic volume is very high during morning commuting hours and Troopers continue to remind motorists to follow the vehicle in front of them at safe distances. A rule of thumb is one car length for every 10 miles per hour. Corneau was issued a traffic ticket pursuant to Title 23 VSA Section 1039 Following too closely. $220 and 5 points as the ticket resulted from a collision. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Winooski P.D. as well as VT DMV.
