SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

From 11/20/16 1630 hours to 11/21/16 0200 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Williston Barracks responded to approx. (26) motor-vehicle related calls for service in the greater Chittenden and Lamoille County area.  These slide-off/collision type incidences were primarily located on the I-89 corridor extending from MM67 (Bolton) to MM87 (S.Burlington). These calls were also located within the area(s) where VTrans had illuminated "Winter Weather Travel Advisory" and "Reduce Speed" signs.

No injuries were reported during this timeframe and few crashes resulted in significant vehicle damage.  Also no significant traffic delays were noted during this period of time. While most of the operators involved reported to be operating at a reduced speed, numerous vehicles were noted to be operating on tires with diminished/no tread or limited grip "all-season" tires.

State Police cited operators for violation(s) of T. 23 VSA Section(s) 1081 - Speed Too Fast for Conditions, 1222 - Defective Equipment, 307 - Failure to Carry Registration and one instance of 676 - Operation After Suspension.
