SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On November 15th, 2016 at approximately 1638 hours, Vermont State Police responded to a single motor vehicle crash on Mt. Philo Road, in the town of Charlotte. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Rachel S. Amundsen, age 19 of Burlington. Investigation revealed that Amundsen was traveling north on Mt. Philo when she failed to maintain lane, left the roadway and entered the nearby wood-line.
Based on the investigation into the crash, Amundsen was suspected of operating while under the influence of intoxicants. A preliminary breath sample of .174% BAC was recorded. Amundsen was subsequently treated and released from UVM Medical Center before being transported to the Williston Barracks where she was processed for DUI. Amundsen was cited and released to appear in Chittenden Superior Court to answer to the charge.
